The demand for rosé wines was particularly strong in 2010 – volume increased by 6.5 percent – whereby there were corresponding declines in sales of white (-1.7 percent) and red (-1.3 percent) wines. As a result, the overall market share for wine according to type currently breaks down as follows: 51 percent red, 39.4 percent white, and 9.6 percent rosé

The newly introduced Sula Brut Rosé in Maharashtra is a perfect bubbly not only because of its palatable and functional gift-worthy packaging but it’s a well made, fruity, crisp and balanced wine made from Chenin Blanc and Zinfandel that can be drunk on any occasion and takes the Indian sparkling wine to another level, writes Subhash Arora

Worldwide, summer months are when rosé wines thrive, so since
Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean have almost permanent summer, maybe we
should be considering drinking more of this misunderstood and little respected
style of wine.

Good rose has a crisp kick and a fresh berry essence that can revive the flagged spirits and heat-dulled tongues. As you would expect, rose works with those foods and fruits of high summer, like vine-ripened tomatoes, corn on the cob, red peppers, berries of all sorts. But the wine also is compatible with fall and its classic flavors: cabbage, Brussels sprouts, pears, cauliflower and broccoli, just to name a few.
One of the most memorable rose food pairings I ever encountered happened during an interview one snowy day. My host served lunch and poured a Tavel from the Rhone with a sausage- and potato-festooned platter of choucroute (French for sauerkraut). My spirit was instantly warmed and revived.

In a highly competitive wine industry, Dusted Valley Vintners in the Walla Walla appellation has shown market savvy and a desire to keep improving their wines. And that they are doing with offerings such as Dusted Valley 2007 Reserve Syrah and Dusted Valley 2009 Boomtown Pinot Gris.
A LITTLE HUMOR can go a long way when you are marketing a new brand in highly competitive times. The first time I tasted a bottle of Dusted Valley wine, I was struck by the owners' motto: "As we say in the Dusted Valley, open that bottle. The first two glasses are for your health; the second two for ours!"

Perhaps Long Island is best for merlot. Perhaps it's best for chardonnay. We'll tell you one thing, though. Given the amount of producers making them, you could make a fair case that Long Island is becoming rosé country.
The wine: Roanoke Vineyards 2009 De Rosa Rosé, a crystal clear, wild salmon colored rosé done in a dry, European style (it's not sweet).
